The University of Szeged (SZTE), tracing its origins to 1872, is one of Hungary's largest and most prestigious universities with approximately 21,000 students. Its Faculty of Science and Informatics hosts the Research Group on Artificial Intelligence (RGAI), the oldest AI research group in Hungary, established in 1969. RGAI is affiliated with the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network and focuses on speech technology, NLP, deep learning, self-organizing systems, and machine learning theory.
