Tractonomy Robotics BV is a Belgian robotics company founded in 2018 and headquartered in Ghent, Belgium. The company designs and manufactures Autonomous Towing Robots (ATRs), intelligent omni-directional mobile robots purpose-built for intralogistics applications such as moving carts, trolleys, cages, and pallets within manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers.

Tractonomy was founded by CEO Keshav Chintamani after being challenged to solve the problem of efficiently moving large and heavy goods within industrial environments. The company's approach centers on combining omni-directional drive systems, AI-powered navigation, and adaptive docking mechanisms to handle the diverse, unstructured cart ecosystems typical of real factories without requiring expensive infrastructure modifications.

The product line includes two generations of ATR. The ATR1 (Autonomous Towing Robot 1), the first-generation product, can tow any type of cart weighing up to 400 kg at speeds exceeding 1 m/s. It uses strafing maneuvers enabled by its omni-directional drive to dock with carts in under 20 seconds, even in confined spaces. The ATR1 docking system connects to standard industrial cart hitches without requiring cart modification.

The ATR2 (Autonomous Towing Robot 2) is Tractonomy's second-generation platform and the world's first intelligent omni-directional tugger with an adaptive docking system that physically adjusts its gripper arms to match varying cart sizes and hitch configurations. The ATR2 measures 90 cm x 64 cm and is available in two torque variants: a standard-torque model capable of towing 600 kg, and a high-torque model rated for 800 kg, both operating at speeds of 1.8 to 2.5 m/s. This dual-arm adaptive docking technology eliminates the need for fleet-wide cart standardization, a key differentiator in complex, multi-cart industrial environments.

Both ATR models use onboard sensors for navigation and obstacle avoidance, can operate collaboratively in multi-robot teams, and are designed to safely transfer and park carts with minimal human supervision. The system integrates with standard warehouse management software to coordinate missions. Tractonomy serves automotive, manufacturing, and logistics customers across Europe.
