Company Overview

Swift Navigation is an American precision positioning technology company founded in 2012 and headquartered in San Francisco, California. The company was established by engineers who originally developed low-cost high-accuracy GPS technology for airborne wind turbines, and when no suitable solution existed on the market, they built one, creating what became the industry's first low-cost, high-accuracy real-time kinematic (RTK) GPS receiver.

Since its founding, Swift Navigation has evolved from a hardware-focused startup into a comprehensive provider of GNSS positioning ecosystems for automotive, autonomous vehicle, mobile, and mass-market applications. The company's products deliver positioning accuracy up to 100 times better than standard cell phone GPS, enabling centimeter-level precision required for safe autonomous vehicle operation.

Swift Navigation's product portfolio spans hardware receivers, software positioning engines, and cloud-based correction services. The Piksi Multi is a multi-band, multi-constellation GNSS receiver designed for robotics, autonomous vehicles, and research applications. The Duro and Duro Inertial are ruggedized industrial versions of the Piksi Multi, co-developed with Carnegie Robotics, rated IP67 and designed for outdoor deployment in agriculture, maritime, rail, and industrial automation environments.

The Starling Positioning Engine is Swift's flagship software product, a receiver-agnostic, integrated positioning engine that ingests GNSS observations, correction data, inertial measurement unit data, wheel odometry, and vision sensor inputs to produce high-accuracy position, velocity, attitude, and heading outputs. Starling is built to ISO 26262 (ASIL-B), ISO 21434, and ISO 21448 (SOTIF) automotive safety and cybersecurity standards, making it suitable for ADAS and autonomous driving applications. Starling integrates with automotive-grade GNSS chipsets from STMicroelectronics, Broadcom, and others.

The Skylark Precise Positioning Service is Swift's cloud-based GNSS corrections network that delivers centimeter-level accuracy corrections across continents without requiring customers to deploy or maintain their own reference station networks. Skylark works with the Starling engine to provide an end-to-end positioning solution for autonomous vehicles.

Swift Navigation has partnerships with STMicroelectronics, Carnegie Robotics, Arm, and other major semiconductor and automotive technology companies, establishing its technology within the mainstream automotive supply chain.
