RSLSteeper (Steeper Group), founded in 1921 by Hugh Steeper, is a UK pioneer in prosthetics, orthotics, and assistive technology. The company developed the bebionic prosthetic hand — one of the world's most advanced myoelectric hands — featuring multi-articulating fingers with individual motors, 14 grip patterns, and proportional speed control. In 2017, Ottobock acquired the bebionic product line from RSLSteeper while the remaining Steeper Group business underwent a management buyout.
Steeper continues to develop and supply prosthetic and orthotic devices and clinical services through NHS and private partnerships in the UK.
