Pisa, Italy service-robotics spin-off of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna founded 2004; builds the DustCart waste-collection robot and HydroNet water-monitoring USV.
ROBOTECH SRL is an Italian engineering company based in Pisa, founded in 2004 as a spin-off of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna's BioRobotics Institute. It develops service robots, embedded electronics, and voice-recognition hardware for industrial, environmental, and consumer use.
DustCart is the company's autonomous mobile robot for door-to-door urban waste collection. In a 2010 field trial in Peccioli, two DustCart units ran 12 hours a day, six days a week, completed 402 collection calls, gathered roughly 540 to 585 kg of sorted waste, and covered about 120 km navigating autonomously to each stop. HydroNet is an unmanned surface vehicle for lakes, rivers, and coastal waters, carrying a multi-parameter probe for turbidity, conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, redox potential, and nitrates, plus hydrocarbon sensors, for pollution monitoring and water-resource studies. EasyVR is an embedded speech-recognition module for Arduino and other microcontrollers, supporting speaker-dependent and speaker-independent recognition; the EasyVR Shield adapts it to the Arduino board.
ROBOTECH is the only design house in Europe authorized by Sensory Inc. for embedded speech recognition, selling its modules under the VeeaR brand, and also makes the OpenTracker GPS device and RBT-001 Bluetooth module.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Autonomous urban service robot for door-to-door waste collection and delivery.
Unmanned surface vehicle for water monitoring in lakes, rivers and coastal areas.
Embedded speaker-dependent and independent speech recognition module.
Arduino-compatible embedded speech recognition shield.
