NextInput's silicon MEMS force sensors are sold as the FT-4000 family, a 1.33 x 1.33 x 0.57 mm indirect force sensor for uses such as LCD-display side buttons that requires a mechanical preload, and the FT-7000 family, a 0.22 mm thick direct-touch sensor that needs no preload. Matching interface chips include the AF-3000 family, a 1.16 x 1.16 mm ultra-low-power analog front end with I2C output, and the DF-8000 family, a single-channel analog front end with programmable interrupt thresholds. Its ForceTouch sensors have been qualified to the automotive AEC-Q100 standard. The sensors replace mechanical buttons and capacitive touch switches in smartphones, wearables, automotive controls, and industrial and medical equipment, and have also been evaluated for robotics and other human-machine-interface applications.
