The National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC) is a member-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, founded in 2008. NAMC operates as a bridge between the US Department of War, the renamed Department of Defense, and roughly 580 member organizations spanning small and medium businesses, large defense contractors, universities, and research institutions.
Working under Other Transaction Authority agreements with the Army, including its GVS and DAI OTA pathways, NAMC funds and manages prototype development programs for autonomous ground vehicles, unmanned systems, sensor fusion, and related mobility technologies. The consortium reports that members have competed for more than 400 unique projects, generating over 1.5 billion dollars in obligated government funding, with about 70 percent of awards going to non-traditional defense contractors outside the conventional acquisition base.
NAMC runs Soldier Innovation Workshops and Mission-Driven Innovation Programs to connect field requirements with member research and development, helping move autonomous ground vehicle and robotics technology from prototype to fielded military systems.
