Mbodi AI is a robotics software company headquartered in New York City. It was founded by Sebastian Peralta, chief executive and a former core engineer on Google's Public DNS service with a triple major in electrical engineering, computer science and physics from the University of Pennsylvania, and by Xavier Chi, a former Google Public DNS tech lead with electrical and computer engineering degrees from the University of Illinois. The company went through Y Combinator's Spring 2025 batch with a team of about six people.
Mbodi's platform lets factory personnel teach industrial robots new manipulation tasks through spoken natural-language instructions and physical demonstration rather than manual reprogramming. The system combines generative AI with agent orchestration to convert language and short demonstrations into robot motion commands, and it updates its behavior as conditions, parts or SKUs change on the line. Skills learned on one robot can be transferred to other robots and facilities running the same platform, and the company states its deployments run at 99 percent uptime in production settings.
Mbodi entered a joint commercialization agreement with ABB Robotics after winning ABB's global AI Startup Challenge, and the company was selected to present at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 and named to The Robot Report's RBR50 list of notable robotics companies.
