The company designs and manufactures AI processors and AI accelerators purpose-built for edge devices, enabling deep learning inference without reliance on cloud computing. Hailo's product line includes the Hailo-8 AI accelerator (launched 2019, named 2021 Edge AI and Vision Product of the Year), the Hailo-15 vision processors (launched March 2023), and the Hailo-10H generative AI acceleration module (launched April 2024), described as the world's first commercially available AI chip capable of running GenAI models locally on edge hardware.
Hailo's chips are deployed in autonomous vehicles, security cameras, autonomous mobile robots, smart cities, manufacturing quality inspection, retail analytics, and agricultural applications. The company has raised a total of approximately $451 million, including a $136 million Series C round in October 2021 that valued the company at $1 billion (unicorn status) and a $120 million extension in April 2024. Hailo employs approximately 240 people and maintains offices in the US, Germany, Greater China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
