Dieffenbacher GmbH Maschinen- und Anlagenbau is a German maker of press systems and production plants, headquartered in Eppingen, Baden-Wurttemberg. Founded in 1873 by Jakob Dieffenbacher, the company remains family owned, now in its fifth generation of leadership, with Christian Dieffenbacher as chief executive since July 2019. Turnover grew from 36 million to more than 400 million euros over the 34-year board tenure of predecessor Wolf-Gerd Dieffenbacher.
The company organizes equipment around three business areas. Its wood-based panels division builds plants for particleboard, MDF, OSB and LVL board, including continuous hot-pressing lines. Its forming division supplies hydraulic presses and composite-processing lines for SMC, LFT-D and GMT materials, serving automotive, aerospace and e-mobility manufacturers whose customers include Audi and Teijin Automotive Technologies. Its recycling division develops wood-fiber recovery systems, run through the CEBRO Smart Plant and EVORIS software.
In January 2023, Dieffenbacher acquired Austrian power-plant maker BERTSCHenergy of Bludenz, adding combustion technology and waste-heat systems through new subsidiary Dieffenbacher Energy GmbH while retaining all 150 BERTSCHenergy staff. The group supplies panel producers including Sonae Arauco, Roseburg, Norbord and Pfleiderer, operating in more than 80 countries from Eppingen.
