Convergence Medical Robotics is a Brisbane-based pre-clinical medical robotics company developing the V01, billed as the world's first arthroscopic surgical robot. The V01 features three halo-mounted high-precision robotic arms offering 21 degrees of freedom, integrated inflow and outflow control for joint temperature and pressure regulation, and capabilities for RF ablation and shaving across a range of arthroscopic procedures. The system received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in December 2023.
Founded in 2022, the company raised AU$5 million to support commercialization and expansion into the US market, targeting the 50 million arthroscopic procedures performed globally each year.
