Biren Technology, formally Shanghai Biren Technology Co., Ltd., is a Chinese semiconductor company headquartered in Shanghai that designs general-purpose GPUs for artificial intelligence training and inference. The company was founded in 2019 by a team that included engineers formerly of NVIDIA, Alibaba, and STMicroelectronics, and its leadership includes chairman Zhang Wen, formerly president of SenseTime.
Biren's products are sold under the Biren (Biluo) GPU series, including the BR100 and BR104 general-purpose accelerators and the newer Biren166 family, offered as the 166M air-cooled OAM module, 166L liquid-cooled OAM module, and 166C inference card, aimed at data-center AI acceleration, telecommunications, and fintech workloads. Biren was added to the US Commerce Department's Entity List in October 2023 amid export-control restrictions on advanced semiconductor technology to China, and it subsequently modified the BR100 design to fit within revised export thresholds.
Despite those restrictions, Biren completed an initial public offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on January 2, 2026, under ticker 6082.HK. The company has been recognized domestically as a National High-Tech Enterprise and a "Little Giant" specialized enterprise, and its technology has won the WAIC SAIL Award in multiple years.
