AUBO (Beijing) Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., known commercially as AUBO Robotics, is a Beijing-based manufacturer of collaborative robots (cobots) established in 2015. The company originated from research by PhD engineers with backgrounds in both US and Chinese robotics academia, initially working under China's national 863 Program for high-technology development. AUBO claims to be the first enterprise in China to commercialize collaborative robots with independent intellectual property.
The company's flagship product line, the i-Series, covers payloads from 3 kg to 35 kg across models including the i3, i5, i7, i10, i16, i20, iS25, and iS35. The AUBO i5, one of the most widely deployed models, features a 5 kg payload, 886.5 mm reach, repeatability of 0.05 mm, a maximum TCP speed of 2.8 m/s, an IP54 protection rating, and weighs 24 kg. All i-Series robots support an open SDK with interfaces for C, C++, C#, Lua, and Python, and are rated for a service life of 30,000 hours.
AUBO has reportedly sold over 35,000 cobot units cumulatively, making it the first Chinese company to exceed 30,000 units and placing it among the top two global cobot brands by cumulative units sold, behind Universal Robots. The company operates R&D facilities in Beijing (Haidian District), manufacturing plants in Zibo, Shandong, and Changzhou, Jiangsu, and maintains sales and technical support in over 50 countries across Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. In 2024, AUBO established a Japanese subsidiary.
The cobots are applied in assembly, welding, dispensing, inspection, pick-and-place, and palletizing tasks across electronics, automotive, and general manufacturing.
