SELCO Engineering was a US industrial automation integrator co-founded in 1995 by Kent Colclazier and based in the Indianapolis, Indiana area, with later activity in Shelbyville, Indiana. The company designed and built electrical and mechanical automation systems, including robot integration, for assembly and material handling applications. Its customers included automotive, pharmaceutical, and consumer products manufacturers in the United States and abroad.
SELCO Engineering merged into Capital Industries, a Central Indiana custom machine builder originally founded as Banks Machine & Engineering in 2000, with the merger finalized as of November 1, 2014. Capital Industries offered design and engineering, fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and custom machine building, and the combination paired its manufacturing capacity with SELCO's robotics and programming expertise. All employees and both leadership teams were retained at the time.
SELCO Engineering no longer operates as a separate company. Capital Industries was itself acquired by the automation integrator Acieta in July 2024. The website selco.com in this record belongs to an unrelated Danish company, SELCO ApS, which makes marine control and protection electronics.
