Ridecell

Ridecell is a San Francisco-based enterprise software company founded in 2009 by Aarjav Trivedi, Steve Dickerson, ArunKumar Elangovan, and Harish Boke. The company builds an AI-powered fleet automation and orchestration platform serving automotive OEMs, leasing companies, fleet management operators, and large carsharing operators running fleets of 50 to 100,000-plus vehicles. In October 2017, Ridecell acquired Auro Robotics — a Y Combinator-backed self-driving campus shuttle startup founded in 2013 by roboticists from the Indian Institutes of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University — and launched the Ridecell Autonomous Operations Platform.

The Auro team became Ridecell's Autonomous Driving Division, bringing self-driving vehicle technology into Ridecell's fleet management stack. The core Ridecell 360 platform combines real-time asset intelligence with digital vehicle control, turning manual fleet processes into automated workflows. Ridecell integrates at the OEM level with Volkswagen, Kia, Stellantis, and other automotive manufacturers, enabling keyless vehicle access, remote diagnostics, and automated dispatch.

Key customers and partners include Penske, 3M, BMW, Volkswagen, and Denso. The company has raised over $101 million in venture funding from investors including Y Combinator, Khosla Ventures, and Cox Automotive. As of 2026, Ridecell employs approximately 170 people across offices in San Francisco, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, and Pune, India.

The platform targets EV fleet operators seeking to reduce total cost of ownership through automation of operations, maintenance scheduling, and vehicle utilization optimization.
