EyeC GmbH is a German technology company founded in 2002 and headquartered at Amsinckstraße 71b, 20097 Hamburg, Germany. It was co-founded by Sören Springmann (computer science), Dirk Lütjens (electrical engineering), and Dr. Ansgar Kaupp (doctorate in electrical engineering). The Hamburg head office employs more than 70 staff, and the company distributes through 25 sales and service partners operating in over 100 countries.
EyeC specialises in automated print inspection and artwork quality control systems covering the entire print production workflow — from initial artwork file through prepress, press sampling, incoming goods inspection, and 100% inline quality control of finished products. This end-to-end coverage across a single production cycle is cited as a key competitive differentiator.
The product portfolio divides into two major families. The EyeC Proofiler range is an off-line inspection system available in multiple configurations: the Proofiler Graphic (and Graphic Connect), Proofiler 400 DTe, 400/600 DT, 900/1200 DT, 1700 DT, 900/1050 RS, and 1500 RS. These scanners perform file-to-file artwork comparison for revision control and prepress, as well as print-to-file comparison for press sample verification. The EyeC ProofRunner range is an in-line inspection system for 100% quality control during live production runs, offered in Web, Sheetfed, and Carton variants, plus the EyeC Quality Link data management layer. In 2024 EyeC launched AI-based defect classification for the ProofRunner series.
Target industries include pharmaceutical packaging (GMP-compliant, 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 validated), label converters, folding carton producers, flexible packaging manufacturers, and brand owners. The systems inspect folding cartons, labels, leaflets, barcodes, Braille text (ISO 17351:2013 conformant), and RFID.
